Abstract
Commissioned by the G20 Brazil Presidency, this report explores the transformative potential of Life Economies as a systemic solution to multidimensional inequalities, climate change, and other global challenges that hinder progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Life Economies prioritize human well-being, social equity, and environmental sustainability, offering a paradigm shift from traditional profit-centered economic models. Recognized by the Indian and Brazilian G20 presidencies, this framework aligns with G20 objectives and commitments and provides actionable pathways for fostering inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economies. Through case studies and policy solutions, the report presents pathways for embedding Life Economy strategies into governance, finance, and development frameworks. It emphasizes the critical role of cross-sector collaboration, innovative financing, and inclusive governance in operationalizing Life Economies and advancing global development. Designed as a resource for policymakers, international organizations, and stakeholders, the report offers a hopeful and actionable roadmap to achieve equitable and sustainable prosperity for all.
